UBD's Bollywood-Bytes 10-March-2011

Rekha
News is in that the diva of all divas will be starring opposite Rajnikanth in 'Rana'. I wonder if it's the role that Madhuri turned down? Well anyway, it's great news that Rekha ji has signed a movie. The film also stars Vidya Balan and Deepika Padukone.

The diva snapped at the media at an event this week. A journalist asked her what she thought about the new budget for the economy and she totally flipped. Well she's only human, and we are all allowed to go crazy sometimes but this will not go down well at all. Online forum users are already criticizing her actions and words. Poor lady.

The former Miss World 1994 has been cast in Madhur Bhandakar's next 'Heroine' it has been reported. The director initially announced his plans to shoot the film with Kareena Kapoor but after they fell out due to 'creative' differences, the film had been shelved. Now the project is back on. Katrina Kaif was also rumoured to be in with a chance of getting the role. The film will be based on Marilyn Monroe's life and tragic death.

The sexy siren is back with a bang in Anees Bazmee's 'Thank You'. The headline-stealing diva will be seen in an item number in the movie in a song titled 'Razia' - which will obviously draw comparisons to last year's 'Sheila' and 'Munni'. Well I have just listened to the track and I think it's totally rocking, and probably the best dance track of the year so far. Where my Kali Queens at?

Deepika Padukone

The 25 year old actress was all set to perform her new item song "Dum Maro Dum" at the India vs. South Africa cricket match in Nagpur, India however the plans have been scrapped. It would have been awesome to debut the song with a live performance but it turns out she was too busy shooting and couldn't take time out for rehearsals. Deepi is currently shoooting 'Aarakshan' with Saif Ali Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

The stunning newcomer is readying herself for a new role opposite Kamal Hassan. The duo will star in a remake of Hollywood's "Hannibal".
