UBD's Bollywood-Bytes 16-May-2012

Sridevi
The world is eagerly awaiting the comeback of the decade. The release date has been tentatively put as end of July/early August. Which means the trailer of English Vinglish will come out in as little as 2-3 weeks. Sri has been away from the big screen since 1997, having been a child artiste since the 60s. She ruled the 80s + 90s.

Madhuri Dixit
After a long period of quiet, things are finally hotting up with Queen Mads. Not only have the promos of the new series of Jhalak Dikhla Ja hit the air but she has signed two movies. Dedh Ishqiya will begin shooting in September, and Gulab Gang will go on the floors early next year. Madhuri remains the actress with most nominations for Best Actress at Filmfare with 13 to date. Will she increase her lead?

Karisma Kapoor
Poor Lolo - her much hyped comeback hasn't gone as planned. Not only has Dangerous Ishhq received bad reviews, it also did terribly at the box office. On top of this there was no UK release which is a huge shame for all her UK fans. But all is not bad, as her performance was appreciated, as were her looks in the movie. We hope her next movie Satte Pe Satta will put her back on track.

Preity Zinta
PZ has been busy shooting the final portions of her comeback film Ishkq In Paris. According to reports, she roped in Salman Khan for a special appearance in a song sequence. Sallu is proving lucky lately, as it was also suggested that it was the trailer of his movie which was shown during the recently released Ishaqzaade which helped the latter to become a hit. Hoping the luck rubs off on Preity's film too.

Vidya Balan
National Award-winner Vids is dying to work with Shahrukh Khan + Hrithik Roshan. But nothing less than a full romantic storyline will do for the Bong Beauty. She deserves it - I wish Yash Chopra had signed her on for his new film. Can't wait to see Vidya's first item number in Ferarri Ki Sawari.

Parineeti Chopra
The newest diva on the block is getting rave reviews for her performance in Ishaqzaade. Pari was seen talking about her role in the movie for weeks, and we are glad to hear it has lived upto its hype. Will this earn her a nomination for Best Actress next year? Time will tell. She won all the Best Newcomer awards this season for her first film Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl.
