Mallika Sherawat covers FHM

If this isn't the hottest and most iconic magazine cover in Bollywood of all-time then I don't know what is

Mallika Sherawat | FHM India | April 2011

Luv Ka The End

New movie produced by Aditya Chopra. Starring the niece of 80s superstar UBD Padmini Kolhapure. Her name is Shraddha Kapoor. Check out the first look of the film which is out 6th May 2011:

Here she is on the cover of Elle India - January 2011:

I think she's got the cuteness of her aunt and she's very pretty too.

Sharmila Tagore on the ramp

The diva of the late 60s-70s walks the ramp for a recent fashion show.

The diva won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her 1969 performance in Shakti Samanta's 'Aradhana' opposite Rajesh Khanna - And was more recently nominated for her performance in 'Viruddh' (2005) making her the oldest nominee at age 59.

She was last on our screens in 'Break Ke Baad' (2010) playing Deepika Padukone's mother - although I thought she was wasted in the movie.

Diva Spotlight: Sushmita Sen

Sush calls it quits?

Sushmita Sen
Sushmita Sen | Gorgeous
After 14 years, 34 films and very few hits in between, actor Sushmita Sen has decided it’s time for a break. Unlike other stars, Sen, 35, is pragmatic about her Bollywood career. “You know, I'd love to say I’m working on something, but that’s not true at all. I’m actually just pausing because I think I have to pause now. It’s been too many years and I kind of look at all the work I’ve done, all the flops I’ve delivered and I have to reassess a little bit,” she says.
There is one film in the pipeline and she’s hoping the director will announce it soon. The role, she says, is new to her and she’s a little jittery. There’s still a spark in her eyes at the thought of films. But doesn’t her decision to take a break, weigh heavy on her? “Not at all. Acting has given me a platform most people struggle to have; I got it on a silver platter. As an actor I have done my work diligently and with as much dignity as I possibly could, but whether it’s the choice of script or taste of audience, when you do it regularly you lose that objectivity and I have lost that objectivity.”
Her focus now is her children and her companies. “I asked myself, do I really want to do this. With a baby at home and my companies, the I AM foundation, I have a lot more that needs my attention right now. It’s time to focus on
them.”

Sushmita Sen on the ramp
The actor flew into the Capital a few days ago to walk the ramp for Delhi-based NGO Khushi, which she has been associated with for four years. She was accompanied by her daughters Renee and Alisah, who sat in the audience to watch their mum sashay down the runway. “They are my heart and soul,” she gushes at the mention of her children.
A proud mommy, she shares how Renee has just completed class 7 with great grades and how baby Alisah, now a year and seven months old, has picked up words such as ‘kiss’, ‘up’, ‘walk’. “The words sound like commands, she’s a little princess who has us wrapped around her little finger. She can operate any remote control, any gadget without being told what to do, she’s going to be an engineer,” she says. What about Renee? She says, “Her only aim in life is to be an actor. I have taken her for some shoots to show her that it’s not easy, it’s not all fans and looking pretty, yet, she still wants it!”

Now let's take a look at Sush at her peak in 1999's 'Sirf Tum' in one of the most gorgeous diva moments in Bollywood history: Dilbar!

Upcoming Summer Film Posters: Where are the ladies?

There has been a bit of a dry spell at the theatres lately. Of course this was due to the Cricket World Cup held in India this year. Last week Kangana Ranaut's 'Game' came and sunk without a trace. This week sees the release of Sonam Kapoor's 'Thank You' but the bad reviews are pouring in and it just spells disaster. All we can do is pin our hopes on the upcoming films of the summer, however there is one issue on my mind. WHERE ARE THE GIRLS? - Let's take a look at the recently unveiled posters for the biggies being released this hot summer season. Where is Asin? Katrina? Sonam? These girls are gorgeous and can hold their own on screen so why are they missing from the posters? Maybe I'm making it a bigger deal than it is, but it's just something that I noticed. Although I must say that Hrithik looks super awesome in ZMND.

UBD's Bollywood-Bytes 05-April-2011

Rani Mukerji | April 2011
Rani Mukerji
The bong diva really is on a self-marketing spree. It feels like she does at least 3 promo events a week since the beginning of the year. She was last seen a few days ago at a Diamond launch in Mumbai - looking stunning in a blue dress. Well she has to keep in the public eye for some time as her next release won't come until 2012 - as yet untitled with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Priyanka Chopra | April 2011
Priyanka Chopra
The starlet has rejected several TV projects. Citing she is too busy with 5 films on hand. Last year she had great success hosting 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' but now the role has gone to ex-co-star Akshay Kumar. Piggy Chops is currently working on 'Agnipath' with Hrithik Roshan and 'Barfee' with Ranbir Kapoor. Having just wrapped on 'Don 2' with SRK + Lara Dutta, she will also start work on 'Krrish 2' again with Hrithik and the as yet untitled Kunal Kohli project with Shahid Kapoor. And of course the cameo in 'Dostana 2'. Looks like she really has got her hands full this year.

Katrina Kaif | April 2011
Katrina Kaif
The 26-year old diva is currently shooting two films back to back: 'Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara' with Hrithik Roshan and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' with Imran Khan but she is excited about the forthcoming shoot for 'Dostana 2'. She said recently that the script is still being worked upon but the end product will for sure be 'fantastic'. Well let's hope so.

Vidya Balan | April 2011
Vidya Balan
The bong beauty is set to take her sensuality to the next level in upcoming 'Dirty Picture'. The film is based on Silk Smitha - a south Indian soft porn actress and the director of the film is set on making it very authentic. The outfits are set to be very skimpy. I am so excited to see what Vidya brings to this role. Vids will next be on our screens with a cameo in 'Thank You'.

Deepika Padukone | April 2011
Deepika Padukone
Deepi was recently snapped by fans on the shoot of 'Desi Boyz'. The diva was seen in a cute mini skirt and halter neck top dancing with background artists on Brighton Pier in England. I love Brighton and if I knew they were shooting there I would have gone down for the day LOL.

Asin | April 2011
Asin
The young actress will next be seen with Salman Khan in 'Ready' which opens June 3rd. Apparently her character in the film is based on Madhuri Dixit's Nisha in 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' and a scene in the film pays homage to the elaborate song and dance sequence featuring all the cast members in the 1994 blockbuster. Let's hope this works for her as she hasn't been able to live up to her 2008 debut - Ghajini.

Anushka Sharma | April 2011
Anushka Sharma
The 22-year old starlet has begun shooting for her next flick opposite Ranveen Singh 'Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl' which will be directed by Maneesh Sharma, bringing the three back together after 2010's smash hit 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. A pic of Ranveer has leaked online and his look is very odd. Looking forward to seeing Anushka on the sets.

Koffee With Karan

It seems Karan Johar is running out of stars. Or has he scared them off? He should get Sridevi, Rekha, Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Manisha Koirala. But now, we have to endure these so-called "sibling celebrities".

Ekta + Tusshar Kapoor

Check it out - he says some pretty harsh stuff about Preity Zinta.

Zoya + Farhan Akhtar

Lara Dutta: 'Chalo Dilli' trailer

Lara was last on our screens in April 2010 with Sajid Khan's 'Housefull' - in which she was fantastic. The Comedy Queen of this generation returns with the first film from her new home production company 'Bheegi Basanti' - whatta hot name. Lara was recently married and now she's back with a bang. Check out the trailer below:

IIFA 2011: Nominations

This is supposed to be one of the more respected award shows of the hindi film industry but to me these nominations are laughable. Where is Kajol? She won the Filmfare, yet here she is not even nominated. Where is Kareena for Supporting Actress? Just looks a mess. Check it out for yourself.
